Following the forum for their administrative and technical staff, the UP Diliman College of Engineering (COE) heads to the UP Bonifacio Global City (UP BGC) campus for their second quality assurance (QA) forum. COE Alumni and Industry partners gathered last November 8, 2023 at UP BGC to update them on the QA initiatives of the college and formally constitute the COE’s Alumni and Industry Advisory Council (AIAC). Joining the hybrid event were several distinguished alumni of the College: Engr. Federico A. Monsada, President of the Philippine Technological Council, Engr. Joey Gomez, President of the UP Alumni Engineers, Dr. Enrico Paringit of the Department of Science and Technology, and alumni from the different Engineering programs.
One of the event’s highlights is the constitution of the AIAC which, as expressed by Dean Dr. Maria Antonia Tanchuling, is an important step that would guide the college as they continuously improve their programs and services. The AIAC will act as a consultative body that would help the college define and improve its program design ensuring fitness for the current industry and professional requirements. It would enable them to be responsive to the needs of their stakeholders and provide better opportunities for the graduates while also strengthening academe-industry partnerships.
