UPD Academic Units Engage in Internal Process Benchmarking

On October 22, 2024, the Internal Quality Assurance unit of the Quality Assurance Office (QAO) facilitated a valuable internal process benchmarking session between the College of Engineering (COE) and the College of Human Kinetics (CHK). COE representatives, including Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Prof. Leslie Joy Diaz, Assistant QA Officer Asst. Prof. Karl Adrian Vergara, COE ARTA Focal Person Ms. Gloria Tamayo, and QA Administrative Staff Ms. Audrey Yumul, were warmly welcomed by CHK College QA Officer Assoc. Prof. Marla Frances Mallari and Cluster ARTA Focal Person for the Arts and Letters Cluster Ms. Vivien Matias at the CHK UP Varsity Training Center.

The primary objective of the meeting was to explore strategies for integrating academic QA practices into the college’s administrative QA processes and ARTA initiatives. By sharing insights and best practices, both colleges aimed to streamline operations and enhance overall quality assurance within the University.

As the hosts, Ms. Matias presented the CHK’s organizational structure and selected processes from the Citizens’ Charter. She also explained how the ARTA Focal Person and Administrative Officers coordinate with QA Officers and faculty to deliver services to stakeholders effectively.

Prof. Diaz, who led the benchmarking unit, expressed gratitude for the insights gathered from the activity. She noted that these insights would be helpful in balancing administrative and academic QA initiatives at the COE.

UPD QAO holds 2025 Q4 QA Clinic​

The UP Diliman Quality Assurance Office culminates its Internal Quality Assurance activities with its Quarter 4 QA Clinic, bringing together 42 participants across 29 degree-granting units (DGUs). Held on November 17, 2025 at the UP Diliman Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute (EEEI), the QA Clinic was attended by academic unit heads, faculty members, research and administrative staff, and QA officers across the academic clusters.

Matias, Director of the UP Diliman Quality Assurance Office, was invited by the Office of Quality Assurance (OQA) of the Central Mindanao University to orient specific stakeholder groups about the conduct of assessment site visits, specifically in the format of the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA).

UPD QAO Sharpens PUP’s Readiness for AUN-QA Programme Assessment​

As a follow-up to the benchmarking activity last year by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) with UP Diliman (UPD) academic units, another collaboration was held between the UPD Quality Assurance Office (UPD QAO) and the PUP Quality Assurance Center (PUP QAC), this time through a webinar on the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Programme-level Assessment Requirements, focusing on Criteria 3 to 8 last October 27, 2025.

5 UPD undergraduate programs complete external quality review visits​

Five academic programs from the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) and the Cesar E.A. Virata School of Business (VSB) successfully completed the 3rd External Quality Review Visit held from October 13 to 15, 2025 in the University of the Philippines Diliman.

UPD QAO holds Q3 QA Clinic 2025

To wrap up the third quarter of the year, the UP Diliman Quality Assurance Office (UPD QAO) conducted the Quarter 3 Quality Assurance (QA) Clinic last September 23, Tuesday via Zoom Conference Meeting, gathering 52 participants from 16 degree-granting units across the UPD academic clusters.
