UPD QAO concludes 2025 SAR Prep Workshops; gears up for submissions before end of year

In order to train SAR Writing Teams for the graduate program offerings of UP and align with the UP System target to further promote SAR submission, the Paghahanda: 2025 UPD QAO Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Preparation Workshops brought together 79 participants across 18 degree granting units in UP Diliman.

“We need to catch up with the preparation of Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) for graduate degree programs. We also wanted to take the opportunity for us to learn more about what OBE is about and how it is translated to our graduate degree programs,” UPD QAO Director Matias shared during the SAR Prep Workshop Opening Program last July 21, 2025.

“We need to learn how the program education outcomes and student outcomes move from the undergraduate towards our graduate programs. That’s the reason why there’s a new learning objective for this batch,” said Prof. Matias as she introduced the difference of this year’s workshops to the undergraduate SAR Prep Workshops in 2024.

The first batch held on July 21, 30, August 4 and 11 convened 40 members of the SAR writing teams across nine (9) Degree Granting Units (DGUs). Aimed at supporting various DGUs, UP Diliman strives for improved SAR submission for graduate programs by the end of 2025.

The four-day session workshops focused on in-depth discussions of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) principles and AUN-QA Programme Level Assessment criteria, facilitated by lead trainers Prof. Rosella Torrecampo, Prof. Emeritus Irene Villaseñor, Prof. Evangeline Amor, and Assistant Professor Jon Paul Maligalig.
