As part of UPD Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II’s strategic directions, UPD aims to mainstream a culture of excellence by being ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organization Management Systems (EOMS) certified by the end of 2025. This aligns with the QAO’s vision of taking the lead in the implementation of an innovative and sustainable quality management system by 2030.

Macro Vision Consultancy, UPD’s partner in achieving EOMS certification, facilitated the activity which verifies compliance of the various units’ existing processes, documents, and records to the requirements of the ISO standard. The activity serves as a diagnostics tool that gives the consultants a context of the existing systems used in UPD’s delivery of educational services. Eighteen (18) academic units and thirty-four (34) administrative units attended the Zoom video conferencing sessions, while four (4) units were visited onsite: the Office of the Chancellor (OC), Quality Assurance Office (QAO), Human Resource Development Office (HRDO), and the Diliman Housing Office (DHO) for the diagnostic activity.

To facilitate the certification process, training programs for ISO facilitators and unit heads will be conducted in October and coaching sessions on process mapping are scheduled in November. These sessions under the Phase 1 of the project will cover ISO awareness, risk management, and roles and responsibilities alignment, providing essential knowledge in setting-up and implementing UP Diliman’s educational quality management systems.
